WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY. The next study begins Sept. 9th and is on the book of Psalms using the book “Everlasting” by Christina Hergenrader. Please contact either Julie Vogts or Caley Moddelmog with any questions.
MISSIONARY PARTNERSHIP. Our Together-In-Mission partners – Rev. Michael and Shanna Hageman – are now in Tanzania. If you’d like to give to supporting the Hageman’s and the Lord’s mission to Tanzania, “Together-In-Mission” offering envelopes can be found on the shelf in the narthex that you can use in giving your support through the Sunday morning offering. Make checks payable to “Immanuel Lutheran Church” and the church will then forward these offerings to the Office of International Mission each quarter.
BOARD of MISSIONS COLLECTION. For August we are collecting non-perishable food items for the McPherson food bank. Please place your donations in the bin located by the church office. Thanks!
SAINTS ALIVE AFTER 55 is an annual conference hosted by the Kansas District of the LCMS. This year it is being held at Christ the King Lutheran Church of Salina on September 20th-21st. The theme is “Fruit Bearing Christians” and will feature speakers Rev. David Beauchamp from Church Ambassador Network of Kansas, and Brittany Jones, President of Kansas Family Voice. The Bible Study leader is Rev. CJ Luttinen, pastor at Risen Savior Lutheran Church in Wichita. Registration details can be found at kslcms.org/caring-ministry/older-adult-ministry/.
THEOLOGY ON TAP will be held this evening at Three Rings Brewery in McPherson from 6-7:30 pm. Pastor Dumperth of Grace/McPherson is leading this evening’s study.
MY DEVOTIONS for September through November can be found in the narthex. These devotionals are great for our grade school and middle school youth in helping them grow in their faith and connecting Jesus to their lives.
WELCOME! Today we welcome Pastor Dennis Kootz, associate pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Salina, as he leads us in hearing our Lord’s word to us and singing our Savior’s praises! Welcome Pastor Kootz and thank you for your service to the Lord and His people. Pastor Slater will be back in the office this coming Wednesday.
STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT. “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship” (Romans 12:1). That’s the order: God’s mercies, then our sacrifice. Since God’s mercies are all-encompassing, so is our sacrifice: a total sacrifice, our total selves placed over into God’s service according to how He has called each of us individually to serve in home, church and society.
LIFE QUOTE.“The One who bore our griefs and carried our sorrows is now seated in sovereign authority over all things. He is not pacing the floor of heaven, wringing His hands. He is reigning. And because He reigns, we can have courage and peace even when our world seems like it’s unraveling before our very eyes.” Rev. Brian W. Thomas. A Life Quote from Lutherans For Life.

LIVESTREAM HELP- We are needing to train a third person on live streaming for Sunday Adult Bible Study and Worship service time. Please contact Brent for details. This would involve setting up the iPad, logging onto Facebook and our church website, copying and pasting some links, maybe adjusting some volumes during the worship service periodically. We would also show you how to set up the video camera and amplifier for use with the Fellowship Hall TV / Sound System.
PRIVATE CONFESSION & ABSOLUTION- Pastor Slater will be available in his office, for any individuals who would like to have private Confession and Absolution in preparation for receiving Holy Communion, from 9:00am to Noon, each Saturday prior to the Sundays in which the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated. This is of course voluntary and not required for receiving Communion. Just an opportunity to further prepare your heart and mind for anyone who might so desire. Any questions, please let Pastor know.
