SUNDAY SCHOOL. During the Sunday School hour (9:30-10:15 am) the adult class is studying the Augsburg Confession. The children and youth classes meet during the same time.Ā

THURSDAY BIBLE STUDY. Thursdays at 7:00 pm we have been offering a Bible study on some of the ā€œ3:16ā€ verses of Holy Scripture. This study will also be broadcast over ā€œFacebook Liveā€ on the church’s public Facebook page (the ā€œImmanuel Lutheranā€ page).Ā Ā

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY continues this Monday evening at 6:30 pm and then also the next Monday, February 23rd before discontinuing until after Easter when a new study will begin.Ā

PRAYER PARTNERS/MENTORS. The Board of Education needs six individuals willing to serve as Prayer Partners/Mentors for our middle school catechism students. If you are willing to so serve, please let a member of the Board of Ed know: Hannah Jones, Caley Moddelmog, or Olivia Kurkowski.Ā

ASH WEDNESDAY and the beginning of Lent is this Wednesday, February 18th at 7:00 pm. Wednesday evening Services will continue for another five weeks following. There is no midweek dinner this week but will be for the other five Wednesdays.Ā

OUR ASH WEDNESDAY OFFERING this year will be going to support the work of the Kansas District in giving grants for future church worker recruitment visits to Concordia University System (CUS) schools and seminaries and helping active church workers to repay their student loans. This is a District-wide offering and any help you are able to give toward this offering, greatly benefits both our future and current church workers.Ā

VALENTINE’S DINNER. The Youth Group is hosting the annual Valentine’s Dinner this evening at 6:00 pm. Tickets are $40 for a couple or $25 for a single ticket. Reservations can still be made through either Jill Kruse or one of our youth.Ā

MISSIONARY PARTNERSHIP. At our last Voters’ meeting, we voted to adopt Rev. Michael and Shanna Hageman as our Together-In-Mission partners! The Hageman’s are currently visiting congregations in the states but will soon be moving to Tanzania where Rev. Hageman will serve as a theological educator to Lutheran pastors in Tanzania, East Africa and Shanna will teach English. Please keep the Hageman’s in your prayers and be watching for how to financially support them and our Lord’s mission to Tanzania!Ā

ENCOURAGEMENT. If anyone would like to send Rudy a card or a note as a way of encouraging him, it would be much appreciated. You can send cards to Rudy at: Rudy Dimaplas, #2000094572, c/o HCF, PO Box 1568, Hutchinson, KS 67504. You can also talk to Mary Lee Wilkening about setting up an e-mail account through which you can send him encouraging messages.Ā Ā

DEVOTIONAL BOOKLETS for the Lenten season can be found on the shelf in the narthex. The devotions begin for this Wednesday, March 18th and run through Easter Monday, April 6th. These devotional booklets are published by Lutheran Hour Ministries under the theme: ā€œBehold Your King!ā€.Ā Ā

STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT. ā€œAnd when they lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus onlyā€ (Matthew 17:8). Jesus is enough. Moses and Elijah point to Jesus and are happy to fade into the background. With our eyes focused on Him and Him alone, the rest of our lives come into focus. He is primary, all else secondary. When that order is right, things truly fall into place.Ā

Prayer RequestsĀ

+ For Ashley Jowers, Krista Clites (sister of Jamie Kohl), Lilli Slater (step-mother of Pastor Slater), Marilyn Vogts, Marsha Wilkening, Karri Strack and Maria (sister of Rudy Dimaplas) who face health issues.Ā

+ For those homebound and in assisted living facilities: Richard Andrus, Irma Bullinger, LaVera Vogts, Lorene Crouse and Betty Colburn.Ā

+ For our brothers and sisters who face persecution for faith in Christ.Ā

+ For missionaries Michael and Shanna Hageman as they prepare to begin work in Tanzania.Ā

+ For those who battle addictions and/or are incarcerated, that they may know the peace and hope that only Jesus can give.

LIVESTREAM HELP - We are needing to train a third person on live streaming for Sunday Adult Bible Study and Worship service time. There are some dates coming up in March, May and June that we will need coverage for. Please contact Brent or Tanner for details. This would involveĀ setting up the iPad, logging onto Facebook and our church website, copying and pasting some links, maybe adjusting some volumes during the worship serviceĀ periodically. We would also show you how to setĀ up the video camera and amplifier for use with the Fellowship Hall TV / Sound System.

PRIVATE CONFESSION & ABSOLUTION - Pastor Slater will be available in his office, for any individuals who would like to have private Confession and Absolution in preparation for receiving Holy Communion, from 9:00am to Noon, each Saturday prior to the Sundays in which the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated. This is of course voluntary and not required for receiving Communion. Just an opportunity to further prepare your heart and mind for anyone who might so desire. Any questions, please let Pastor know.
