BOARD of MISSIONS COLLECTION. Thank you to everyone who donated household and personal items during the month of May for Passageways of Wichita. The generosity is greatly appreciated! For June we are collecting non-perishable food items for the McPherson Food Bank.
MISSIONARY PARTNERSHIP. Our Together-In-Mission partners – Rev. Michael and Shanna Hageman – are now in Tanzania. If you’d like to give to supporting the Hageman’s and the Lord’s mission to Tanzania, “Together-In-Mission” offering envelopes can be found on the shelf in the narthex that you can use in giving your support through the Sunday morning offering. Make checks payable to “Immanuel Lutheran Church” and the church will then forward these offerings to the Office of International Mission each quarter.
MOWING HELP.A sign-up is posted on the bulletin board by the church office for mowing the church yard and/or the cemetery. All help is appreciated!
MY DEVOTIONS for June through August can be found in the narthex. These devotionals are great for our grade school and middle school youth in helping them grow in their faith and connecting Jesus to their lives.
STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT.“As Jesus passed on from there, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax booth, and he said to him, ‘Follow me.’ And he rose and followed him” (Matthew 9:9). When Jesus talks, Matthew listens and acts. Jesus says, “Follow me,” and Matthew follows. What does this tell us about Matthew? It tells us that he believes in Jesus. Our actions flow out of our faith. Show me what a man does, and I’ll tell you what he really believes. Our sinful actions uncover our false beliefs and our need for repentance and a return to the forgiveness we find in Jesus. Our godly actions display our faith in Jesus. What kind of faith (or false belief) do your financial actions display?
MEN’S BIBLE STUDY continues this coming Saturday, June 13th from 7:45-8:45 am at The Hub in Moundridge. All men of the congregation are invited and feel free to bring a friend as we begin the series, “Home Run King”.
JUNE CALENDAR and NOTES can be found on the stand in the narthex.
FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION. On Sunday, July 5th, the church will host our annual get together for food and fireworks! We will start at approximately 6:00 pm with a potluck supper with fireworks following until after dark.
THE BOARD OF MISSIONS is sponsoring a talent show and watermelon feed on the afternoon of Sunday, July 19th. If you would like to enter your talent, please let one of the members of our Board of Missions know: Connie Bunn, Mary Lee Wilkening, and Karla Jones. More details will be coming.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL will be held the week of Monday, July 27th and run through Friday, July 31st during the evening. This year’s theme is “Tropical Trek: Jesus Comes to Seek and Save”. Any children Pre-K through those who just finished 5th grade are invited!
LIFE QUOTE.“Remember that our Savior was born into a human household … He is our Friend, our Brother, He will help us in our time of need, especially when we seek Him out in God’s Word and fervently in prayer. As you relate to others in your home, ask God’s Holy Spirit to give you wisdom in difficult situations, mercy in abundance when forgiveness is needed, and love to cover all your family’s interactions.” Rev. Dr. Oswald Hoffmann, former speaker of “The Lutheran Hour”. A Life Quote from Lutherans For Life.
PEACEMAKER MOMENT.“Pray that God will open your eyes more fully to the glory of what Christ has done for you. Learn to delight in reading about, meditating on, and rejoicing in Jesus’ completed work on the cross. When your soul, your thoughts, and your conversation are saturated with the gospel, it will overflow into other areas of your life, bringing hope and encouragement to others, even if you are talking to them about their need for repentance and change.” Taken from “The Peacemaker: A Biblical Guide to Resolving Personal Conflict” by Ken Sande, p. 165.

LIVESTREAM HELP- We are needing to train a third person on live streaming for Sunday Adult Bible Study and Worship service time. Please contact Brent for details. This would involve setting up the iPad, logging onto Facebook and our church website, copying and pasting some links, maybe adjusting some volumes during the worship service periodically. We would also show you how to set up the video camera and amplifier for use with the Fellowship Hall TV / Sound System.
PRIVATE CONFESSION & ABSOLUTION- Pastor Slater will be available in his office, for any individuals who would like to have private Confession and Absolution in preparation for receiving Holy Communion, from 9:00am to Noon, each Saturday prior to the Sundays in which the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated. This is of course voluntary and not required for receiving Communion. Just an opportunity to further prepare your heart and mind for anyone who might so desire. Any questions, please let Pastor know.
