HOLY BAPTISM TODAY Today we have the joy of witnessing the Lord’s gift of Holy Baptism for Haven Jane Kurkowski. Haven is the infant daughter of Kye & Paige Kurkowski and the little sister of Bowen and Bauer. Serving as Haven’s sponsors are Wes & Jane Hansmeyer and Nick & Brooke Vogts. We rejoice with the Kurkowski family!

HOLY BAPTISM NEXT SUNDAY Next Sunday we will have the joy of witnessing the Lord’s gift of Holy Baptism once again, this time for Mirabella Rosa Bañuelos!

SUNDAY SCHOOL (9:30-10:15) am) The adult class is studying the Augsburg Confession. The children and youth classes will not be meeting again until September.

BOARD of MISSIONS COLLECTION For the month of June, the congregation is gathering non-perishable food items for the McPherson Food Bank.

MISSIONARY PARTNERSHIP Our Together-In-Mission partners – Rev. Michael and Shanna Hageman – are now in Tanzania. If you’d like to give to supporting the Hageman’s and the Lord’s mission to Tanzania, “Together-In-Mission” offering envelopes can be found on the shelf in the narthex that you can use in giving your support through the Sunday morning offering. Make checks payable to “Immanuel Lutheran Church” and the church will then forward these offerings to the Office of International Mission each quarter.

FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION On Sunday, July 5th, we will host our annual get together for food and fireworks! We will start at approximately 6:00 pm with a potluck supper with fireworks following until after dark.

WATERMELON FEED and TALENT SHOW The Board of Missions is sponsoring a talent show and watermelon feed beginning at 6:30 pm on Sunday, July 19th. If you would like to enter your talent, please let one of the members of our Board of Missions know: Connie Bunn, Mary Lee Wilkening, and Karla Jones.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL will be held the week of Monday, July 27th and run through Friday, July 31st during the evening. This year’s theme is “Tropical Trek: Jesus Comes to Seek and Save”. Any children Pre-K through those who just finished 5th grade are invited!

PORTALS OF PRAYER for July through September can be found in the narthex. Large-print copies are available.

MOWING HELP A sign-up is posted on the bulletin board by the church office for mowing the church yard and/or the cemetery. All help is appreciated!

STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT “Present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness” (Romans 6:13). Everything we have — even our own existence, our very selves — is a gift from God to be used for His purposes. God has called you to be His own and has given you tasks to perform in home, in church and in society. How will you serve Him today?

LIFE QUOTE “Committed, present, and selfless fathers are the antidote to the culture that has embraced abortion. If we want to end abortion and restore a culture of life, then we need men to embrace fatherhood. We need to take on the great mission, the life-long quest of courage, servitude, and faith. So, let’s cheer on fathers for the amazing work they do. They’re shaping the future, one day at a time, with God’s love as their guide.” Jeff Gunnarson, Campaign Life Coalition. A Life Quote from Lutherans For Life.

PEACEMAKER MOMENT “ ‘He who answers before listening – that is his folly and his shame’ (Proverbs 18:13). There are several ways to improve your waiting ability. Try not to jump to premature conclusions about what others are thinking; give them time and hear them out. Discipline yourself not to interrupt others while they are speaking. Learn to be comfortable with silence and do not respond the moment there is a pause. And do not offer immediate solutions to every problem others bring to you. Sometimes they already know what they should do, but they need to have someone allow them to talk it through.” Taken from “The Peacemaker: A Biblical Guide to Resolving Personal Conflict” by Ken Sande, p. 166.

Prayer Requests

+ For Ashley Jowers, Krista Clites (sister of Jamie Kohl), Lilli Slater (step-mother of Pastor), Jeff McMannis (brother of Cathy Vogts), Marilyn Vogts, Marsha Wilkening, Karri Strack and Adam Soeken who face health issues.

+ For those homebound and in assisted living facilities: Richard Andrus, Irma Bullinger, LaVera Vogts, Lorene Crouse, Duane Moddelmog, Betty Colburn and Vernon Nutter.

+ For our brothers and sisters who face persecution for faith in Christ.

+ For missionaries Michael and Shanna Hageman as they serve in Tanzania.

+ For those who battle addictions and/or are incarcerated, that they may know the peace and hope that only Jesus can give.

LIVESTREAM HELP - We are needing to train a third person on live streaming for Sunday Adult Bible Study and Worship service time. Please contact Brent for details. This would involve setting up the iPad, logging onto Facebook and our church website, copying and pasting some links, maybe adjusting some volumes during the worship service periodically. We would also show you how to set up the video camera and amplifier for use with the Fellowship Hall TV / Sound System.

PRIVATE CONFESSION & ABSOLUTION - Pastor Slater will be available in his office, for any individuals who would like to have private Confession and Absolution in preparation for receiving Holy Communion, from 9:00am to Noon, each Saturday prior to the Sundays in which the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated. This is of course voluntary and not required for receiving Communion. Just an opportunity to further prepare your heart and mind for anyone who might so desire. Any questions, please let Pastor know.
