SUNDAY SCHOOL (9:30-10:15 am). The adult class will begin a look at the book of Revelation next Sunday, September 13th. The children and youth classes will also begin meeting again next week.

MIDDLE SCHOOL CATECHISM CLASSES resume this Wednesday evening from 6-7:15 pm.

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY. The next study begins this coming Wednesday, September 9th at 6:30 pm and is on the book of Psalms using the book “Everlasting” by Christina Hergenrader. Please contact either Julie Vogts or Caley Moddelmog with any questions.

MISSIONARY PARTNERSHIP. Our Together-In-Mission partners – Rev. Michael and Shanna Hageman – are now in Tanzania. If you’d like to give to supporting the Hageman’s and the Lord’s mission to Tanzania, “Together-In-Mission” offering envelopes can be found on the shelf in the narthex that you can use in giving your support through the Sunday morning offering. Make checks payable to “Immanuel Lutheran Church” and the church will then forward these offerings to the Office of International Mission each quarter.

BOARD of MISSIONS COLLECTION. For September we are collecting non-perishable food items for a local food bank. Please place your donations in the bin located by the church office. Thanks!

MY DEVOTIONS for September through November can be found in the narthex. These devotionals are great for our grade school and middle school youth in helping them grow in their faith and connecting Jesus to their lives.

THE SEPTEMBER CALENDAR and NOTES can be found on the stand in the narthex.

MEN’S BIBLE STUDY will be held next Saturday morning from 7:45-8:45 am at the Hub in Moundridge. All men of the congregation, high school and older are invited to come as well as any guests.

SUNDAY SCHOOL. With youth Sunday School classes resuming next Sunday, as well as the new adult study of the Book of Revelation, the Board of Education is hosting a Back to Sunday School breakfast from 9:00-9:30 am. Casseroles, donuts, fruit, and juice will be served for everyone

THE SACRAMENT OF HOLY BAPTISM will be held next Sunday morning as we rejoice with the Giffin family!

SPECIAL VOTERS’ MEETING will be held in the sanctuary on Sunday, September 27th immediately following the day’s Service of the Word with two items on the agenda. First, Pastor and the Board of Elders are proposing that the Board of Elders be expanded to four members (from the current three). This would be a bylaw change and such changes must be read at one Voters’ meeting and then voted on at the next. So we will be discussing this change at the special Voters’ meeting and then vote on it at the regular Voters’ meeting on October 25th. The second agenda item for the special meeting is to specify a budget amount that the congregation would like to give to the congregation of Christ Lutheran Church of Manhattan as they continue revitalizing the ministry there. In July we voted to support the congregation but no specific amount was set. If you have any questions, please see either Loren Schmidt or Pastor Slater.

STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT. “Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 18:4). What does it mean to have childlike faith? Certainly Jesus does not want us to have a faith that is childish — we are not called to ignorance or silliness. Rather, we are called to trust the way a child trusts: with complete confidence in the Father. We show that confidence in our lives when we follow His directives for our life. Father knows best, so we’ll take His advice!

+ For those homebound and in assisted living facilities: Richard Andrus, Irma Bullinger, LaVera Vogts, Lorene Crouse, Duane Moddelmog, and Betty Colburn.

+ For our brothers and sisters who face persecution for faith in Christ.

+ For missionaries Michael and Shanna Hageman as they serve in Tanzania.

+ For those who battle addictions and/or are incarcerated, that they may know the peace and hope that only Jesus can give. QUOTE. “The One who bore our griefs and carried our sorrows is now seated in sovereign authority over all things. He is not pacing the floor of heaven, wringing His hands. He is reigning. And because He reigns, we can have courage and peace even when our world seems like it’s unraveling before our very eyes.” Rev. Brian W. Thomas. A Life Quote from Lutherans For Life.

LIVESTREAM HELP - We are needing to train a third person on live streaming for Sunday Adult Bible Study and Worship service time. Please contact Brent for details. This would involve setting up the iPad, logging onto Facebook and our church website, copying and pasting some links, maybe adjusting some volumes during the worship service periodically. We would also show you how to set up the video camera and amplifier for use with the Fellowship Hall TV / Sound System.

PRIVATE CONFESSION & ABSOLUTION - Pastor Slater will be available in his office, for any individuals who would like to have private Confession and Absolution in preparation for receiving Holy Communion, from 9:00am to Noon, each Saturday prior to the Sundays in which the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated. This is of course voluntary and not required for receiving Communion. Just an opportunity to further prepare your heart and mind for anyone who might so desire. Any questions, please let Pastor know.
