Student Fund Guidelines 2009

Immanuel Lutheran<= /st1:PlaceName> Church, <= st1:City w:st=3D"on">Canton, Kansas

By delegation= of the Board of Education, the student fund shall be managed by the Board of Missi= ons.

Eligibility a= nd requirements of scholarship applicants shall be as follows and shall supersede any previ= ous guidelines.

1.&n= bsp; Applicants who are communicant members of Immanuel and the Kansas District LC-MS shall= be eligible for consideration for this scholarship, with consideration given f= irst to those of Immanuel, Canton, Kansas, secondly members within our Circuit, thirdly, the Kansas District as a whole.

2. Scholarship funds = are available to those students only, who are willing to prepare themselves for= full-time professional church work in The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and must att= end one of the schools in the Concordia University system. =

3. Applicant must fur= nish transcripts from previous school year and be in good academic and disciplin= ary standing when submitting application and continue so during the duration of scholarship term.

4. Submit a letter, o= f no more than 600 words in length, summarizing who you are, by your activities, accomplishments, and other information which would indicate your commitment= to a career in full-time church work. Please include a photo of yourself.

5. An application sha= ll be effective for one school year. A new application must be made for subsequent years.

6. It is our intention that the scholarship amount be no less than $1000.00 per school year.

7. Scholarship amount= will be divided between the fall and spring semesters in a school term and will = be sent directly to the recipient’s college. Receiving funds for subsequ= ent semesters will be contingent upon satisfactory completion of previous semes= ter.

8. The student fund committee will review applications. The committee shall consist of the three members of the Board of Missions and current Pastor of Immanuel, Canton, Kansas.

9. No scholarship sha= ll be awarded by the committee unless the school of the applicant shall have first approved their enrollment.

10. Applicant must apply for scholarshi= p no later than June 1^st.

11. Student must agree to keep committee informed of his/her current status and address.

12. Committee would li= ke student to communicate with the congregation of Immanuel, sharing details about the= ir selves and their educational experiences during the year with a visit to our congregation at our expense.
