THEOLOGY ON TAP- will be held Sunday, June 22nd from 6:00-7:30 pm at Three Rings Brewery in McPherson. Pastor Slater will be leading this monthās study as we continue a look at the Ten Commandments from the Large Catechism.
SUNDAY SCHOOL PRESENTATION - Gary Boesker recently traveled to Kenya to help distribute Bibles on behalf of Gideons International. He will be sharing his experience with us next Sunday, June 29th, during the Sunday School hour (9:30-10:15 am). So come to Garyās presentation and rejoice that the Lord continues to send out His Word āto the ends of the earth.ā
MORNING MATINS SERVICES - are being offered each Wednesday morning at 9:00 pm. We are reading through the Augsburg Confession as a part of these Services. Please join if you can.Ā
FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION - On Wednesday, July 2nd, we will once again get together at the church for food, fireworks, and it has been suggested that this year we add a car show! We will start at approximately 6:00 pm with a potluck supper and fireworks following until after dark. Also, if you have a car, an old tractor, or something else old that you would like to share, please bring it!
SAINTS ALIVE AFTER 55 -an annual Kansas District gathering of āolderā Christians, will be meeting this year at Christ the King Lutheran Church of Salina, on July 13-14 (Sunday evening and Monday morning and afternoon) under the theme, āBeing Generousā. The keynote speaker is Lisa Hellyer of the Lutheran Hour Ministries and the Bible study leader is Rev. Quentin Nuttman, pastor at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Hutchinson. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL - Get ready for an unforgettable journey with Jesus as we embark on an āEpic Australian Adventureā! This yearās VBS will be Monday, July 28th through Friday, August 1st. Monday through Thursday sessions will run from 5:45-8:15 pm (includes a meal for the kids and volunteers). Friday will be a light meal at 6:15 pm followed by the VBS closing program at 7:00 pm. The age range is Pre-K through 5th grade.
MOWERS NEEDED - The sign-up sheet for mowing the church yard and the cemetery can be found on the bulletin board in the narthex. The church yard and cemetery are separate lines to help keep it from being such a big job. You can also ask someone else to āteam upā with you as far as mowing and the trimming. So please consider signing up if you are able to help at all. Thanks!Ā
SUNDAY SCHOOL - During the Sunday School hour (9:30-10:15 am) the adult class is continuing an evangelism study: āEvery One His Witnessā as we learn how to share our faith with those whom the Lord places in our lives. The Middle and High School Sunday School class is looking at various videos regarding the Bible and our faith.Ā Sunday the 18th, is the last Sunday for the youth Sunday School classes until late summer.
LIVESTREAM HELP - We are needing to train a third person on live streaming for Sunday Adult Bible Study and Worship service time. There are some dates coming up in March, May and June that we will need coverage for. Please contact Brent or Tanner for details. This would involveĀ setting up the iPad, logging onto Facebook and our church website, copying and pasting some links, maybe adjusting some volumes during the worship serviceĀ periodically. We would also show you how to setĀ up the video camera and amplifier for use with the Fellowship Hall TV / Sound System.
PRIVATE CONFESSION & ABSOLUTION - Pastor Slater will be available in his office, for any individuals who would like to have private Confession and Absolution in preparation for receiving Holy Communion, from 9:00am to Noon, each Saturday prior to the Sundays in which the Lordās Supper will be celebrated. This is of course voluntary and not required for receiving Communion. Just an opportunity to further prepare your heart and mind for anyone who might so desire.
